Reviews, going wide and 1899

Published about 1 year agoΒ β€’Β 2 min read

Hello Reader!

*Have you read Flower of Memory or Amaranth? If so, I would appreciate it if you could leave an honest review on Amazon (just click on the title). I am planning on going wide and since I won't be benefitting from Kindle Unlimited's natural push, reviews will become ever so important. Thank you! This means a lot to me.*

This past month I was busy helping other would-be authors prepare and write their own book πŸ“š. I feel lucky to be able to take part in their book journey and I can't wait to see their efforts pay off.

I have also been documenting my coaching sessions to help me write my first non-fiction book about writing a book, and prepare an online course to do just that. I'll let you know once these projects will be going live.

This means that the fiction part of my business has been on hold for a couple of weeks. It is a lot to manage right now since I am a one-person business (hopefully not for very long!), but it has given me a lot of great ideas. I have been thinking about the next series I will be publishing after Amaranth concludes with Promised Land around the end of the year or early next year. So busy or not, my mind is still working in the background to give you more stories to enjoy!

What I'm reading

I am still in a reading slump (it always happens to me when I am writing intensively), but I have received a few exclusive Fairyloot editions which I thought would be nice to share with you.

Here are the books I am (still) slowly reading right now (only 1 novel I know πŸ˜…):

1. Babel or the Necessity of Violence by R. F. Kuang

Book Promos!

As usual, I am partnering up with a few authors of science-fiction, dystopia and fantasy to expand our reach, and offer a stack of free or discounted books. If you are looking for a new read, check those out by clicking on the banner or book cover.

What I'm watching

I have just finished watching 1899, an interesting yet bizarre TV show where a group of migrants set sail to America aboard the Kerberos to start a new life. But when they pick up a distress signal from a disappeared ship, things go south. The ending was baffling, and it saddened me to learn afterward that the show was not renewed for a second season. The ideas are interesting and in line with Dark (no wonder they are the same creators!), which would warrant further development, but hey Netflix is the boss...! If you want an interesting yet mind-bending story to dive into, 1899 is a good pick.

Current Projects (April 2023)

  • Write the second draft of Promised Land Amaranth Book 3 (French Edition) (30%)
  • Polish What if you wrote that book?, my first non-fiction book

Happy reading!

David

Hello Reader! I hope February was as productive for you as it was for me. πŸ“š I completed the Kickstarter fulfillment with much more ease than I thought. Here you can see the letters of the Commander and some of the packages of the signed edition: I also finished the Kickstarter exclusive short story called Lion Hide, set in a completely different universe. I am considering keeping it exclusive for my patrons on a future Patreon. I am still thinking about my options, but I am definitely going...

Happy lunar year of the rabbit! It's hard to believe that we're already a month deep into 2023. Lucky as I am, I was sick πŸ€’ for a week (blame the bad food I had the only day I went out!). It took me a while to recover my strength and go back intro writing mode, but I'm back! πŸ˜€βœοΈ I have been working hard on the rewrite of the last book of the Amaranth series.πŸ“– Meanwhile, the sequel North Star is in the proofreading stage, which means I can start thinking about the Kickstarter campaign for the...
